A rescue dog, Major carries more than the usual baggage in adjusting to life as one of two First Dogs. No one can really know what he had been through before the Biden family adopted him three years ago at a Delaware shelter.
For the second time, Major has lost it. It was through a nip. And just like we don't know what's in his memory bank from the past, we who are outside the Beltway don't know what he might have been going through emotionally at the White House recently.
Dogs are psychic. So, he could have been picking up on more than the usual tension in his current environment. And/or someone could have telepathically messaged him dark thoughts. The guy could have felt threatened.
For too long after I adopted five-year-old LOV at the North Haven, Connecticut shelter, he would nip. That included the handyman in the apartment complex. Somehow I figured out this: Immerse him in love. I even changed his name from Lee to that. For the next seven years he was so full of love. In early January 2021, when he passed over, many mourned this sweet little guy.
I stick with the adage: There are no bad dogs. Legal practices which specialize in dog bites might not agree.
