On CBS' "48 Hours," Erin Moriarty circled back to the May 24, 2019 disappearance of Jennifer Dulos from her home in an upscale Connecticut suburb. At the time, she was 50 years old.
With the primary suspect husband Fotis Dulos dead (a suicide), the focus was the "other woman" Michelle Tronconis. Obviously, her legal problems are serious. As a commentator put it, Tronconis was "left holding the bag."
However, for many of us following this mystery there wasn't a lot of satisfaction. There were way too many interviews with the family and friends of Jennifer, Fotis and Michelle. Of course, those will be supportive of their family member or long-time friend. That was downright annoying.
What would have been useful to us would have been more in-depth interviews with experts in law, real estate (Fotis' profession), psychology, ethnic Greek values (Fotis' background) and the subcultures of Connecticut and Manhattan. In addition, what was needed was more legal analysis of what Fotis' defense lawyer Norm Pattis contended.
Unless Michelle caves, Jennifer's disappearance will likely remain a mystery. Meanwhile there is the tragedy that the Dulos' five children have lost both their mother and their father. While Fotis was on life support after his suicide attempt, the children did come to the hospital and visit with their father. He died shortly after that.
