"Millions of at-home workers are rethinking the rat race. Some employers are already on it."
That is the lead-in to an article in The Washington Post about changing values.
The trigger, of course, has been COVID-19.
While working from home, employees got a break from some of the "rat race." And they are deciding they don't want to circle back to the worst of it. Employers will have to move the dial on more life in the work/life balance.
The story itself is familiar. After all a new generation is determining culture. They grab the headlines. (We Ok, Boomers are still firmly in power, though.)
What is new is the use of that hackneyed term "rat race." To use it makes one seem, well, out of touch.
So, either WaPo is out of touch or the term is having a come-back.
