An employee - actually now a former one - at Hampton Inn, Williamston, North Carolina, called the police about a black mother and her children swimming in the pool. You bet, she did a Karen.
As USA Today reports, the police demanded documentation, that is a room number, that the black woman and her children could be using the pool. They also ran her license through a check.
That woman is Anita Williams-Wright. Yes, of course, she was humiliated, especially for the incident to happen in front of her children.
Those children might have had a brutal introduction to the Karen phenomenon - if they hadn't already encountered it.
Hampton Inn, owned by Hilton, terminated that version of a Karen. It indicates that her behavior does not reflect the values of the hospitality facility.
The website for the Hampton Inn's Williamston location indicates the hotel is upscale.
