"Phillips Exeter Academy sent an email to alumni Wednesday that Rick Schubart acknowledged the [sexual] misconduct [with students in the 1970s and 1980s] after the school received reports in 2011 and 2015. It said he was forced to retire and leave campus housing in 2011. He was stripped of his emeritus status ..." - Associated Press, March 31, 2016. Here is the article.
Phillips Exeter Academy, based in New Hampshire, joins another New England prep school - St. Paul's - as a School for Scandal. At the latter, Owen Labrie had allegedly engaged in sexual misconduct with a much younger female student. Labrie is now in jail for violating the conditions of his bail, as he appeals his conviction.
Meanwhile, at UC Berkeley Law School the Dean is on leave as a lawsuit against him for alleged sexual harassment proceeds. And at Stanford Graduate School of Business the Dean resigned after a lawsuit was filed against him contending discrimination. The estranged wife of the plaintiff, a professor at Stanford Graduate School of Business, had been having an affair with the Dean.
With so much at stake at elite academic institutions one would assume the players would be less allegedly reckless.
