"Maxime Fohounhedo, 30, allegedly sexually assaulted his 22-year-old female passenger on Nov. 16 [in Chicago area]. The woman requested a ride at 2:30 a.m. after a night out with friends ..." - Maya Kosoff, "An Uber Driver in Chicago Has Been Charged With Sexually Assaulting A Female Passenger," in Business Insider, December 30, 2014. Here is the coverage.
The alleged victim admits she was intoxicated at the time. She dozed off during the ride. When she came to it was in an apartment with him allegedly on top of her. Then he drove her home. Afterwards she texted a friend about what had allegedly happened.
While the case is in court, Uber is banning Fohounhedo from driving for the company. Bail has been set at $500,000.
Fohoundedo might have been able to conceal data about himself because the Uber account is under his wife's name. Uber does not allow that type of "account sharing" and designates it as fraud.
Meanwhile females who are intoxicated or very tired better think twice before using their Uber app to find a way home. That includes New Year's Eve.
