Will those of us who didn't receive early-release copies of Michael Wolff's "Fire and Fury" ever get to read it?
That carefully documented tell-all about the campaign of Donald Trump and first year in office is supposed to be available from Henry Hold and Co. Inc. next Tuesday.
But, superlawyer Charles Harder, representing Trump, has issued a "cease and desist" letter. It prohibits any further publication or dissemination of the book. Here is the media coverage from the LA Times.
Harder is as well known a lawyer as David Boies.
It was Harder who won the $140 million jury award in "Hulk Hogan v. Gawker." As a result, Gawker went out of business. In addition, Harder represented Melania Trump in her defamation legal actions. Yes, the defendants caved.
Excerpts already smuggled out from "Fire and Fury" reveal supposed interactions in the Trump circles which mirror the kind of behavior made standard by television reality shows.
Meanwhile during the new legal battle Harder has set in play, Wolff has gained fresh prominence as a journalist.
