LuLu was in an elite and important CIA training program.
That was the K-9 unit for detecting explosives. The graduates have become a fixture in the growing number of television crime shows.
But, LuLu seemed ambivalent in her calling. As CIA officially told the media, LuLu didn't demonstrate the needed passion. Here is the coverage by The Washington Post.
Since attitude is what employers and clients often judge us on, LuLu's caught the attention of the powers that be. Motivational tactics, such as treats, weren't effective. No surprise, LuLu was forced out of the unit.
The story has a happy ending, though. LuLu has been adopted by her handler. She now lives her life without the pressure of CIA work. Her daily tasks might be limited to a few love licks when Daddy returns home from the CIA and engaging in some tedious ball catching.
And, that might be the exact ending LuLu was angling for. She did enough to not seem to be perceived as a refusnick. But stopped way short of meeting and exceeding expectations.
Publishers should be hounding (pun intended) her to write a book on her career journey involving the wrong job and how she managed to extricate herself without being self-defeating. Given that I am a ghostwriter, I request an interview with LuLu for her to check if the chemistry is right between us.
