But one wonders if the dark cloud hanging over Ailes' legacy will taint the Mukasey brand.
Ailes denies every aspect of the sexual harassment allegations. However, he had been forced out of his leadership position at Fox News. That was a media powerhouse he had built.
The media reported that Ailes had then sold his newspapers and residential properties in the New York Metro area and high-tailed it to Florida. The latter is not exactly the media capital of the world.
Mukasey does have a pedigree. He is the son of the U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey during the George W. Bush Administration. Also, he had been mentored by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Currently Mukasey is a litigation attorney at Greenberg Taurig.
At Greenberg Taurig his role is the opposite one of a U.S. Attorney. There he is the Global Co-Chair of the firm's White Collar Defense & Special Investigations Practice. He defends the organizations and individuals Bharara used to prosecute. For Criminal Defense, White Collar, he had been listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" for 2013-2017.
It could just be that the Ailes' association is helping Mukasey in Trumpville. A media genius himself, Donald Trump recognizes the importance of Fox News to the promotion of conservative thinking.
