For decades, Manson followers have been applying for parole. Unitl now, they have been turned down. Bruce Davis, 69, is now the exception, reports NBC News. The Parole Board recommended his release. He had been convicted of two murders.
During his years in prison he had studied for degrees in philosophy and religion. Could encountering those lines of thought have changed him? According to what scientists are finding, life experiences as well as instructional exercises can rewire brain circuits. That's called neuroplasticity and it can happen at any age. The brain doesn't become fixed in our early 20s.
The belief in neuroplasticity could be the grounds on which more inmates are released from prison.
