Breastfeeding While Teaching Class: American U remains neutral

Assistant Professor of Anthropology at American University Adrienne Pine was surprised that breastfeeding her sick baby in class became news, reports WTOP.com.   Actually it became controversy as students tweeted and blogged about the incident.  In response to the negatives posted, Pine issued her own opinion on her blog.

American University has no policy for or against breastfeeding in class by its employees.  It stuck with that non policy.  Now, of course, it is in the media spotlight.  There's a school of thought in public relations that holds that all attention can be leveraged.  American University can sponsor a panel on work/life balance issues.  You bet, the media will come.
