SCOTUS Upholds Obamacare, 5-4

In a presidential election year, every legal decision, particularly if it's via the U.S. Supreme Court, resonates - loudly.  Today, SCOTUS released its decision upholding the federal health care law, a cornerstone of Barack Obama administration's progressive agenda. 

LAWYERS USA reports that the ruling was 5-4, that is close.  As for specifics, the Court said that the Congress has the taxing authority for this.  In addition the expansion of Medicaid in the law is constitutional.  However, those states which do not comply with the expanded mandates cannot be denied federal funding.

Any politicos worth their salt will be speculating on the implications of this "win" for Obama rather than how it could affect U.S. healthcare.
