Between the hours of 5 P.M. and 7 P.M. last night I picked up enough new business to end my economic recession. One was associated with legal marketing and the small firm even ponied up some decent money. The other was related to researching and creating direct mail.
The two deals wouldn't have happened in my old Nokia days. It took an iPhone. Earlier in the day I had transformed myself from the Baby Boomer who was the child of what seemed like a lesser technology: Nokia hardware, Microsoft windows operating system. With the help of ATT&T Wireless sales consultant Jimmy Azhari at the North Haven, Conncecticut store, I upgraded myself to the magic of the iPhone. Azhari attended to every detail. He threw in some complimentary tutoring.
In my phone pitches to the two men who are now in the client box the reception was clear. There were no disconnects. No worry about other communications since calls went to voice mail. And I felt like member in good standing in the digital age.
God bless Steve Jobs and Jimmy Azhari.
