Like New York governor Andrew Cuomo, Rhode Island governor Lincoln Chafee was in the political desert for a while. They both got smart in that wilderness.
Although he's taking heat for it, Chafee is insisting on referring to the tree states and the nation puts up as the "holiday" tree, not a Christmas tree, reports POLITICO. Had he not made that move, the state could face a lawsuit and lots of publicity which would make it appear ridiculous.
