Golf: No longer a game worth learning, playing

So much change.  It's actually come to this.  Admittedly, THE NEW REPUBLIC is a liberal publication.  But it's been hammering for a while what a negative symbol golf transmits.  And that was before Tiger Woods's meltdown.

In the December 30th edition of TNR, Michelle Cottle says the game is dying and "screams stodgy, hyperconventional Old Guard."  The advice is for President Barack Obama to stop playing it.  Ironic that this middle aged white man's sport has been a jinx for two men of color.

Once BigLaw gets it that the rules are not what they were it might also distance itself from golf.  Instead of doing business on the links, it might rent private time in a video game arcade for entertaining prospects, clients and even star lawyers it wants to recruit.
