Valspar seems to have another successful ad on TV. This one is about the calming effect of green paint. The underlying message is that this green paint goes on the wall very easily and w/o a mess.

The "calming" effect of green paint comes from research back in, I think, the 1930s or 50s on the effect of different interior colours in institutional settings. That research influenced what colors were used to paint schools, hospitals, prisons, etc. - probably still does.
The actual color used in the Valspar commercial is "Meadow Green." But it won't have such a profound effect on your kids - getting kids of that age to read "War and Peace" (what the boy is reading) or "Sense and Sensibility" (the girl - note the sexism in the choices) takes lots of good parenting and example setting - interior decorating is not enough.
