It probably won't be until this afternoon that the Ohio GOP will confirm that it finally has a candidate for the Attorney General race. But informed sources feel confident a confirmation is coming. The GOP's man is D. Michael Crites. He has the credentials to take on the Dem candidate Richard Cordray.
Crites, now in private law practice, is known for prosecuting Pete Rose for tax evasion and drug cases. Although he is a relative unknown in political circles, the GOP could quickly change that, given all the stumbles of the Dems in office.
It would be likely that Crites would toss the statewide lead paint public nuisance suit. At his law firm Rich, Crites & Dittmer, he specializes in defending manufacturers in product-liability claims.
