Since Plea Deal didn't Save Jr., How About a Dream Team

It turns out that Dickie Scruggs' plea deal did not save his son Zach from jail time.  What benefit the deal did or will do Junior we don't know, at least not for sure.  The grapevine all predicted that Dickie would cave, primarily to save his son.

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL's Nathan Koppel, Ashby Jones, and Bobby White report that Dickie's plea could aid his son indirectly.  For instance, Dickie might not be called to testify in the trial against his son which is scheduled to March 31st.  There was nothing in the plea deal that prevents the prosecutor from compelling him to be a witness.  But the reporters note that there is something distasteful, including in the jury's eyes, for a father to testify against a son.

Meanwhile, there's a sort of dream team being assembled to defend Junior. In LEGAL NEWSLINE, John O'Brien reports that former Mississippi Attorney General Mike Moore requested permission to represent the son.  In addition, the famous Lee Martin, who is a member of Moore's law firm, is trying to enter the case.  Will we be seeing Alan Dershowitz also in MISS?
