"'Thomas' is shaping up to be the most interesting of lead trials," observes Midwest Attorney

A devoted lead-watcher who is also a well-known Midwest attorney has been riveted by "Thomas."  Off-the-record, this attorney observes:

"'Thomas' is shaping up to be the most interesting of the lead trials so far.  The battle is joined again over the link between lead exposure and behavioral problems.  The Thomas household's perpetual chaos, as described in the opening statements, would clearly be enough interference with any child's development to cause problems, whether or not lead exposure was part of the environment.

"There will be no tiptoeing around that issue with the plaintiff, who is a defense lawyer's dream.

"Also this case seems to involve an unusually active guardian ad litem paying some peculiar role here who also appears, I believe, in some of the other Peter Earle cases.  She bears watching closely as a new character in the drama.  I am betting there is an interesting story surrounding her involvement.

"As trials go, this one looks like a cage match.  If only these people were famous, Dominick Dunne would have a field day."
