First the city of Akron in Ohio sues the former lead-paint companies for whatever, even though its annual bill for that sort of thing is at the very low end. That's like suing Ford Motor because I see it somehow as responsible when my Escort makes a slight noise, after 200,000 miles. Also, note that 1 of the former lead paint companies Akron was suing - Sherwin-Williams - happens to live in the state and does a wonderful job at being a good corporate citizen. La vida loca.
Now, the city of Akron says it's forgetting about the lawsuit. And it is refusing to talk to the plaintiff lawyers such as Motley Rice who helped put together the law suit. Akron left attorneys like Motley Rice's Jack McConnell, who's been a key player in the Rhode Island lead paint follies, cooling their heels wondering, hey, what happened.
Time for the busy bees in Akron to slow it down and think strategically and carefully before they do anything else.
